Abilities SustainAbilities™ Hydroponic skill training offers trainees the opportunity to learn teamwork, innovative farming and a discovery of employment opportunities in Agribusiness occupations. The goal for all trainees is to learn a variety of skills that will be transferable to employment in hydroponics, green houses, manufacturing and many other related career fields. Students transitioning may be referred for hydroponic skill training.

As of Spring 2015, we've continued to grow our Hydroponics program by launching our own pond system housed at our Mary Apgar Center.  Our sincerest thanks to Joe, Chris and Chip Chiappetta for their guidance and assistance with the set-up and training to get this opportunity off the ground.  We will initinally be growing dill, lettuce, basil and other herbs and produce.  Photos of our the SustainAbilitiesĀ™ Hydroponics at Mary Apgar Center can be found on our Facbook page: CLICK HERE.

In addition, Abilities continues to partner with Edible Garden/Naturally Beautiful in Belvidere to provide onsite hydroponic skill training.  Edible Garden operates a five acre state of the art hydroponic system and has partnered with Abilities to train individuals to produce locally grown, fresh produce while teaching skills that will be transferable to employment and community integration activities.

Thank you!
