Drag Racing by Jack French

Drag Racing has a lot of history behind it, they began drag racing in the 1940’s and it is still occurring today. The goal of drag racing is to be the first to cross the finish line. This means, when setting up your car you want top of the line supplies to make sure your car is the fastest. Most racers do this by tuning their car and completing time trails. Time trials are where they start on the starting line and when the green comes out, they go. There is only one car on the track and instead of racing, they are timed to see how long it takes them to cross the finish line. If the racers are not pleased with their time, they will take the car back to their shop and continue to make modifications. There is one driver in the car, there are no passengers. I like to watch drag racing, I find it exciting to see which car will win.

Tractor Pulls by Brian Bartow

Tractor Pulls, also known as Power Pulling, are normally seen at county fairs. They can be very noisy so make sure you wear headphones when you go to watch these events. The goal of these events are to see which tractor can pull heavy weight the farthest. Some tractors make if very far and others have a hard time moving. The drivers do a lot of work to their tractors to get them ready for these events. Some requirements for tractor pulling are that the driver must stay on the seat at all times, they must stay in low gear the whole time, they must keep one hand on the steering wheel throughout the whole event, only one person on the tractor at a time, each driver has to wear a helmet, each driver must also wear long pants and leather boots.

Drones by Kevin Giordano

Recently I have been seeing a drone fly around my house. I am not sure why or who is flying it, but it has been there every night for the past 10 nights in a row. I looked into some facts about drones so I knew more about them. The facts are, some drones have cameras on them so when they fly you can take picture or a video. Some farmers even use drones to keep an eye on their crops. Another name for drones is unmanned Ariel vehicle because you use a remote to fly the drone through the air. I found these facts interesting, but I would still like to know why a drone keeps flying around my house!

The ingredients needed will be

  • ½ cup of low-fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup of mild salsa
  • Four 6-inch wraps

The Supplies needed will be

  • A fork
  • A medium mixing bowl
  • 1 cup measuring cup
  • ½ cup measuring cup
  • 1 microwave safe plate
  • Paper towels
  • Oven mitts
  • A small spatula

First you mix the beans, cheese and salsa in a medium bowl, then you lay a tortilla shell down and put your mixture inside. Once your shell is filled with mixture, roll the shell and place it in the microwave for 45 seconds.
