Mary Apgar Center Newsletter – October 2024

Latest news and bulletin updates by your reporter on the scene, Darren.

We had a busy October, and boy, did it go by quickly! This month we went out on Meals at Home 5 times, took a trip to Oxford Lake and Meadow Breeze Park for lunch, ShopRite for supplies for our Halloween Party and for supplies to make our treat for Halloween Day. We also took a trip over to the Big House to take a photo for Abilities 50-year Anniversary! Cheers to 50 Years!

In art this month we made coffee filter monsters with Sam! We also did a cat in a pumpkin craft!

We had a Fun Halloween Party on October 25th with Pizza, rice cripsy treats, games, prizes and pumpkins! We give a big Thank You to Tranquility Farms!

Based on our breakfast survey, we learned that 176 cups of coffee, 49 eggs, 64 cups of juice, 68 bowls of oatmeal, 32 waffles/pancakes, 31 servings of bacon/sausage, and 179 “other” items were consumed this month!

In this months “This or That” survey, we learned that:

  • 9 consumers would rather have a pumpkin and 11 a jack-o-lantern
  • 13 would rather have hot chocolate and 8 apple cider
  • 10 consumers would rather go to a pumpkin patch and 12 an apple orchard
  • 9 consumers prefer Halloween and 12 chose Thanksgiving
  • 15 consumers would rather go on a hayride and 6 would rather do a corn maze!

This is Darren, your reporter on the scene. Until next month, I hope you all have a great November and a Happy Thanksgiving!
