THE PBURG SCOOP

Hello everyone!! Help Pburg celebrate our employee of the month Grace Dillon. Thank you for all your hard work this month!!!

Hi, I’m Josh E. I did a good job helping water the pburg garden. I liked going outside with my Staff to add water to the plants. We planted seeds to grow tomatoes and peppers.

We had a visit to the planetarium! Boy did we have fun learning about all the animals that were there. The best part was when we got to watch a movie on the big screen.

Hackettstown Center

Hackettstown enjoyed a beautiful day at Tranquillity Farm. We were able to have lunch overlooking the flowers. We walked around the flowers and saw the animals. We also picked flowers to take home. And as a grand finale, we ate ice cream.

MSN

MSN had a busy month of learning and experiencing new things. We learned about the color wheel in art. We learned how to create colors from primary colors. We also learned that contrast takes the eye across the board or picture of whatever we are looking at.

To make things a bit sweet we, we made Root beer floats for root beer day. It was Pam’s first time drinking a float. She liked it so much she kept asking for another float! It was also Jen’s first time enjoying a root beer float. She drank her root beer float and gave a thumbs up.

At the end of the month, we decided to get artistic but still learn something new. On Science Day we used dish soap, milk and food coloring to make a picture. Staff assisted everyone with using cotton swabs and dipping them into soap then into the food coloring. The result of doing such things created awesome watery pictures. We dipped watercolor paper into the milk mixture.

At the end of the month is MSN is having a 1950s party! Get out your poodle skirts, hair grease and leather jackets to experience the 50s with us! There will be dancing, games and a costume contest!

Employment Pathways

Hello everyone! My name is Justin and I’m excited to share a little bit about my hobbies and interests. I enjoy building Lego and I use them to construct themes inspired by iconic universes like Star Wars and various comic book adventures. Each set tells a story and I find joy in bringing those stories to come to life through my creations and show them to family and friends.

In addition to my Lego-building adventures I am big on visiting comic shops. There’s a special thrill that comes from browsing the shelves filled with Marvel and DC Comics. Each one offers a unique narrative and a chance to dive deeper into the superheroes and villains that I admire. The colorful artwork and engaging storylines have a way of captivating my attention and I can easily spend hours lost in the pages of these fantastic worlds.

One of the highlights of my year is attending Comic Con in New York City every Fall. It’s an incredible experience where fans from all walks of life come together to celebrate their love for comics television shows and movies. I particularly enjoy getting signatures from well-known voice actors and characters who have shaped my childhood and continue to inspire me. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the talented individuals behind the characters we all cherish.

I also enjoy traveling with my family. We often explore the beautiful landscapes of Pennsylvania where we can enjoy the great outdoors together. One of our favorite activities is having picnics in the park where we can unwind from work. We indulge in delicious food and soak up the sunshine while sharing stories and laughter. It’s these simple moments that create lasting memories and strengthen our bond as a family.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my interests! I look forward to sharing more experiences with you in the future.

Youth Services

One skill I gained from the internship is social experience, and being part of a connected community outside of my family.
I enjoy the routine and it gives me something to do. I feel I’m starting my career and job experience. I’m hoping to get hired at Retrofitness, if they’re hiring. Or elsewhere
