‘Run for the Pickles’ raises $21,000 for Abilities’ residential program

Runners approach the camera on a tree-lined street during an autumn 5K race. A yellow inflatable arch in the background reads 'Split Second Racing.' Spectators line the street, and fall foliage in red, orange, and yellow colors surrounds the scene. A vehicle with a 'Warren' banner is visible on the right.

A record number of participants enabled the Sterbenz “Run for the Pickles” to raise more than $21,000 to benefit Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc.’s innovative housing program at The Village at Hawk Pointe.

More than 150 people participated in this year’s 5K run and 1K pup walk/roll/stroll, which took place on October 4 at Warren Community College (WCC) in Washington, NJ. This year’s event was conducted in partnership with MegaBite Events and featured a post-run snack from Picklelicious.

“The Sterbenz family once again hosted an amazing event that provides much-needed support for our new residential program,” said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth. “We appreciate all of our sponsors and everyone who participated.”

Doug Borelli finished first in the men’s 5K run with a time of 22:03.3, while Olivia Davis won the women’s 5K run with a time of 22:58.0. A total of 22 men and 55 women took part in the 5K run. Full race results can be found here.
