Hackettstown Center

Waterloo Village by Thomas

Last week, we went to Waterloo Village, a canal town built in 1820. We walked around, had lunch, and took breaks. I liked the view and the river, and I had fun with my friends. I recommend visiting the park.

Spirit Week by Diego Gonzales

We celebrated Spirit Week, and it was super fun! We had a pajama day, and the ice cream truck came, too. There was also an ’80s Day and a Tie Day. My favorite was Hawaiian Day. We danced and participated in lots of fun activities.

Mary Apgar

Join us in congratulating our New Jersey Association of Community Providers – NJACP Star, Darren “Reporter on the Scene” from Mary Apgar.

Since joining the Abilities family at the Mary Apgar Center in November 2023, Darren has blossomed into a true STAR in our community! He joined us for three days per week, which quickly turned into five. Darren is key to ensuring our vegetable plants and flowers are well cared for, both in the center and in the greenhouse. As the official Reporter on the Scene, Darren leads daily surveys called “This or That,” and provides everyone with survey results, and other current updates for our monthly newsletter. Darren enjoys volunteering at the PossAbilities Thrift Boutique and the local animal shelter, where he provides shredding for their beds. Darren spreads his positive energy wherever he goes and makes the Mary Apgar center and our community shine brighter every day. Congratulations Darren! You are a STAR in every way!
