Washington Program
From the moment Romaine joined our Abilities family at the Washington program, he has continually impressed us with his drive, warmth, and unwavering positivity. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his character shines in everything he does.
Romaine arrived with clear goals: he wanted to secure employment, earn his own income, and ultimately live independently. In less than a year, he has turned those dreams into reality. Today, Romaine is thriving in a residential setting and actively training for competitive employment, an achievement that reflects both his determination and his remarkable work ethic.
Romaine’s presence brightens our Center every day. His smile is infectious, and his kindness is genuine. He consistently puts others first, always mindful of the feelings and needs of those around him. He volunteers with pride at our Possibilities Thrift Boutique in Flemington, NJ, where he brings joy to staff, customers, and other volunteers. Outside of volunteering, he loves spending time with his peers, bowling, sharing meals at local restaurants, playing educational games like Skip‑Bo, and participating in a variety of community outings.
Romaine embodies the spirit of the STAR Award. His perseverance, his commitment to personal growth, and his desire to “always do the best he can” make him an extraordinary role model within our program. We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and excited for all that lies ahead.
It is with great pride and heartfelt admiration that Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. honor Romaine Williams for the NJACP 26th Annual STAR Award.
