THE PBURG SCOOP

Hello everyone, please help us congratulate our Employee of the Month at Phillipsburg Abilities. Sharon, enjoys doing arts and crafts while she is at program. When arriving at the program she brightens up people around her with a warm welcome and a hug. Sharon always has such a positive attitude every day, and it is a pleasure to have her at our program. CONGRATULATIONS SHARON!!!!

A great day at work for me is having my favorite staff, Gracie. I work hard in the kitchen while loading the dishwasher. After all my hard work I head to the local bakery and sit outside enjoying the beautiful weather and sweet treats.

Staff Shoutout


Join us in congratulating our very own, Carissa Pross, for receiving the 2025 Outstanding Peer Achievement award at ACCSES NJ’s STAR Conference.

Carissa’s advocacy work at both the federal and state levels have been instrumental in promoting the rights and choices of individuals with disabilities. Her testimonies of the 14C work program captivated the audience, leaving them inspired, empowered, and profoundly influenced! Her efforts have helped to ensure that individuals with disabilities have the right to make informed decisions about their work and their lives.


Employment Pathways


“Barbie” is celebrating 23 years at Weis this month!! Barbie started out as a cashier and has worked at many different departments in her career at Weis markets. Congratulations to Barbie on an amazing accomplishment!


Youth Services


Landon was a part of the 2025 summer internship. He attends Warren Hills High School and is in his junior year. Landon was employed at Panera in Hackettstown during his internship. He is a hard worker and always tries his best. Towards the end of his internship, the manager asked him if he would like to continue his employment with Panera. Landon was very happy with his job and wanted to continue working there. Landon filled out an application, He was hired part time and started his training a couple weeks after the internship. Landon shared that he enjoys his job. He said he likes being busy all the time and likes his co-workers.

A few facts about Landon include his favorite place to go on vacation is Orlando Florida, where he can see his favorite animal at the aquarium, a shark.
