The holidays are a magical time of the year. People are happy and merry! Sometimes, people drink eggnog and put up their Christmas tree. Some people even watch The Christmas story all Christmas long! Singing Christmas songs. Kids have an elf on the shelf. Parents bake cookies and make gingerbread houses. Pictures with Santa are always fun! Everybody better be good because Santa is watching!
Kim’s Cooking Corner by Kim Russo
This month I decided to write down the recipe for Apple Pie!
Ingredients needed:
- 1 package pastry for a 9-inch double-crust pie
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1 tablespoon butter
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees
- Line a 9-inch pie dish with one pastry crust
- Mix 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl
- Put apple slices in the prepared pie dish
- sprinkle each layer with cinnamon sugar mixture
- Bake pie on the lowest rack of the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking until golden brown
