The Christmas party is the best! We have gifts and food with friends, play games, and even get a visit from Santa, who gives us all gifts. All my friends were excited and me too.

I went to the supermarket. I had a great time shopping. We bought things for the cooking club, and I also bought things for everyday use. I learned how to weigh apples. I checked the prices and brands to see which was a better deal. The cashier was nice. The trip there and back was fun. I saw farm animals.

We had a cooking club where we made apple bars. We got ready and put on our chef’s aprons and gloves. I cut up all the apples, and we chopped up both red and green apples. Some of my classmates added the dry ingredients, and others added the wet ingredients. I had a lot of fun making the bars and even more fun eating them. They were delicious.

We had another busy month! First, we had our Holiday Party and a delicious lunch. We had chicken parmesan and baked ziti. We also baked cookies for dessert. Everyone really enjoyed it. There was a trip to MSN to visit their “Winter Wonderland” and play games. We went to the Hologram Zoo Lehigh Valley for the Christmas show with Washington Center and Phillipsburg Center, it was a lot of fun! There was also a trip Dairy Queen for lunch and ice cream, and groups went out for Meals at Home every Thursday.

Employment Pathways

We are excited to share a new partnership with Wonder, a newly opened restaurant in Hackettstown. This collaboration is off to a great start, as Wonder recently hired one of our consumers, Eddie. The manager, Matilde, has been wonderful to work with and is enthusiastic about exploring additional opportunities for collaboration. We are grateful for partnerships like this that support employment and help strengthen our local community.

Residential

We’re thrilled to share that our second Residential Services apartment was licensed in mid-November and welcomed its first residents in December. Both apartments are now at capacity!
