A message from our CEO. 01/30/2024

Dear Abilities friends and family,

Before I share all about the year 2024, a VERY special year for us, let us review the IMPACT we’ve made this last year through 2023. Our recently published annual Impact Report captures our performance while showcasing the continued success of persons served, thanks to all of YOU. You can click on this link to take you directly to the report: https://abilitiesnw.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Abilities-Impact-Report-FY23.pdf or you can find it on our website at Reports and Resources. Please check it out!

2024 will be a year to celebrate as we turn the big 5-0 at Abilities!

50 years of dreaming…
50 years of believing…
50 years of achieving…
50 years of Inspiring Success!

Over 50 years ago, a group of grassroots advocates, including parents and members of our community, came together to incorporate Abilities of Northwest Jersey as an organization fulfilling the vocational needs of adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Starting as a small workshop in Washington, and partnering with local companies, this group of advocates wanted to ensure persons served learned vocational skills, leading to their sense of self-worth while they contribute to our business community. Thanks to their efforts, we were legally incorporated in 1974!

Since that time, we have grown exponentially, serving individuals of all levels of abilities, through the expansion of various programs, services, and social enterprises. Thanks to our friends and supporters, we have transformed thousands of lives over these last 50 years!

To celebrate, we are starting off with all things 50. We have a 50/50 raffle going, with the winner being drawn at our 50th Anniversary Gala on May 11, 2024. Raffle tickets are $20 each and available NOW. More information will be coming out very soon for our special event in May. Be sure to save the date and please email Charissa Buskirk at [email protected] with any raffle requests or event questions. We’ll be planning more celebrations throughout the year, so be sure to stay tuned.

Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2024!

Warmest regards,
Cynthia B. Wildermuth, CEO
